Story and History Telling with Chemakum Tribal Elder

This program will take place in the Carnegie Reading Room at the Port Townsend Public Library

Join Rosalee Walz, a Chemakum Elder and Chairperson of the Chemakum Tribal Council, for an evening of story and history telling as she weaves into history the story of the Chemakum People to reclaim, restore, and promote their history and culture, to preserve their sacred link to the land for cultural and sustenance purposes, now and forever.  

Indigenous to Chemakum Territory, Walz is a graduate of the University of Washington, and Antioch University, holding an M.A. In Whole Systems Design. While she had a career in human resources; her passion was serving on the Seattle Indian Health Board for 20+ years with several years as its president. She has been an executive coach and is a writer, and she wrote the text for Still Here: Portraits (by Brian Goodman) of the Chemakum.
